A note from Pastor Troy . . .

I have had the opportunity to live in many different states. I was born in Van Nuys, California. I lived the next eight years in South Windsor, Connecticut; until we moved to Florida, where I spent ten years of my life and graduated high school. I spent the next four years going to college in Tennessee and had an opportunity to wrestle for our college team. After graduating college, I lived outside Atlanta, Georgia for a year before moving to Dallas, Texas to obtain my Master’s degree.

I lived over twenty years in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area ministering and serving God before He called me to pastor here at Glade Community Church. It is an honor to serve as pastor here and I pray that God will continue to use Glade Community Church as a lighthouse that brings glory and honor to Him.

I did not have the privilege of growing up in a Christian home. I grew up chasing after the things of the world and the flesh. But on January 15th, during my sophomore year of college, I embraced Jesus as my Lord and Savior. That personal encounter with Jesus radically changed my life. Before my personal encounter with Jesus I tried to find my purpose and the meaning of life in what the world and flesh had to offer. Now I find my purpose and meaning in seeking to please God.

I believe God has a purpose and a plan for every person. I believe He desires all humanity to be saved from their sin and embrace a personal intimate relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. God created all of us with an emptiness inside that can only be filled by Jesus. If you want to experience a life of true peace, joy, and happiness; Jesus is your answer.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

A little trivia about me . . .

My personal hobbies are golf, sand volleyball, and fighting off old age (I’m losing that battle). I’m also a big Dallas Cowboys fan . . . but don’t let that keep you from coming to church. LOL.
